⚠️ BEN GURION AIRPORT UNION WARNS OF ACUTE STAFFING SHORTAGE AHEAD OF HOLIDAYS: The Israel Airports Authority workers’ union warns Ben Gurion Airport could face renewed disruption during the holiday travel rush, saying 400–500 additional workers are needed across the authority.
The union attributes the shortage primarily to management problems and recruitment difficulties, saying department managers and union representatives have been warning about the situation for months. More than 100 employees are currently serving in the reserves, while dozens of others are absent due to long-term illness, injuries or workplace accidents.
Service and operations staff are reportedly working 220–260 hours per month, often in hot conditions and without sufficient breaks. The union says double-digit staffing gaps affect airport operations, firefighting, security, transportation and baggage sorting.
The warning follows recent labor disruptions at Ben Gurion that caused widespread delays and political backlash. Union chairman Pinchas Idan is expected to turn to the labor court as the holiday period approaches, while the union says immediate action is needed to prevent further deterioration in passenger service.
📍 ISRAELIS INJURED IN ROCK-THROWING INCIDENT NEAR SA’IR; POLICE INVESTIGATION OPENED: Earlier yesterday, IDF soldiers were dispatched to the Sa’ir area following a report of Palestinians hurling rocks at Israeli civilians who were present without prior authorization. Israeli civilians were injured.
A security official opened fire in the area, resulting in Palestinian casualties. A separate report was received regarding a structure under construction being set on fire, and firefighting crews worked to extinguish it.
IDF troops dispersed the confrontation and removed the Israeli civilians from the area. The IDF stressed that the presence of Israeli civilians without prior coordination and authorization endangers them and diverts soldiers from defensive and counterterrorism activities.
Judea and Samaria District Police officers were at the scene with IDF soldiers, collecting evidence and testimonies as part of an investigation.
🇮🇱 NETANYAHU AND EISENKOT REJECT PALESTINIAN STATE AFTER MANSOUR ABBAS REMARKS: After Mansour Abbas declared that he would make sure a Palestinian state is established, Gadi Eisenkot said: “No Palestinian state will be established during my term.”
National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir responded: “Listen to Mansour, the ally of Gadi, Naftali, and Yair, at a Ra’am conference: ‘A Palestinian state exists.’ That’s his plan for the next government: to establish a terrorist state and restore all the privileges I revoked for his friends in prison. This must not happen. We will not let it happen!”
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said: “As long as I am prime minister, there will be no Palestinian state controlled by Iran—not in Gaza and not in Judea and Samaria. Period. The price of a left-wing coalition with the Muslim Brotherhood has been exposed once again. These are the partners of Eisenkot, Lieberman, and Tropper, who boycott Likud voters but welcome the supporters of Tibi and Balad with open arms.”
