⚓ INS DRAKON BEGINS VOYAGE FROM GERMANY TO ISRAEL

Israel's sixth submarine, INS Drakon, has begun its voyage from Germany to Israel following a send-off ceremony at the TKMS shipyard in Kiel, completing years of Israeli-German planning, development and construction.

Drakon is the third and final submarine in the Dolphin-class AIP series purchased by Israel's Defense Ministry for the Israeli Navy. ❌ HAMAS INTERNAL SECURITY CHIEF CAPTURED IN GAZA CITY: The IDF and Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) carried out a targeted operation in Gaza City earlier today, capturing Muein al-Arabid, identified as the head of Hamas' Internal Security apparatus in the Gaza Strip. Netanyahu described al-Arabid as "one of Hamas's most senior leaders, was responsible for hiding and moving our hostages, hiding senior Hamas officials, force build-up, and attempting to restore the capabilities of the terror organization."

"Recently, he was engaged in efforts to restore Hamas's governance in Gaza, in deception regarding the issue of demilitarizing the Strip, and assisted in carrying out terror attacks against our forces and our civilians," Netanyahu said. He added that Israel "will continue to pursue all Hamas leaders and everyone who took part in the October 7 massacre."

Arabic-language media had claimed that an Israeli-backed anti-Hamas militia carried out the raid. The IDF and Shin Bet said it was conducted by Shin Bet special forces. Al Jazeera subsequently published footage showing the Gaza City raid.

The IDF said Southern Command forces remain deployed in the area in accordance with the agreement and will continue operating to remove threats.

The brigade rabbi permitted the mission because of its operational importance, while the soldiers cited outside rabbinic guidance and their understanding of the IDF’s Joint Service Order. The mission was ultimately canceled.

A subsequent IDF account said 16 soldiers were sentenced: five leaders received 10 days in jail and 11 others received five days. Two of the five will also face an evaluation committee before returning to combat duty. The program will integrate Rafael’s David’s Sling and SPYDER systems, IAI’s BARAK MX, ELTA MMR radars and a new national command-and-control system led by Rafael, providing defense against ballistic missiles, aerial attacks, hostile UAVs and other threats.

Defense Ministry Director General Amir Baram and Greek procurement chief Ioannis Bouras signed the agreement at the Israeli Defense Ministry headquarters in Tel Aviv. The broader agreement includes expanded Israeli-Greek defense-industrial cooperation and technology transfer to Greek industry. The Defense Ministry said Greece’s selection of Israeli technology as the backbone of its major air-defense buildup reflects the depth of trust between the countries and further strengthens their strategic security partnership in the Eastern Mediterranean.

⚠️ TRUMP VOWS RETALIATION AFTER IRAN ATTACKS U.S. FORCES: President Donald Trump said the United States will retaliate for Iran’s overnight ballistic-missile attack on U.S. forces in Jordan. Trump separately called Iran “officially a Failed Nation” and said its leadership is in “total disarray.” He claimed more than 100,000 Iranian protesters have been killed and wrote, “They must be tried for war crimes against humanity!” The 100,000 figure has not been independently confirmed.

Despite threatening military retaliation, Trump said Iran wants negotiations “so badly,” while questioning whether Tehran can be trusted to reach an agreement and saying U.S. sanctions are “kicking in really strongly.”

New people who will focus more on leadership and less on politics. We are part of the right-wing camp, but we work for no one—only for the people of Israel.”

🔸 EISENKOT AND BENNETT COURT LIEBERMAN OVER SURPLUS-VOTE AGREEMENT: Eisenkot and Bennett have both approached Avigdor Lieberman seeking a surplus-vote agreement.

Under Israel’s electoral system, two lists can sign such an agreement so their surplus votes are considered together when the remaining Knesset mandates are distributed after the initial seat allocation. Each list can sign with only one partner, and the agreement does not merge the parties.

That makes Lieberman’s choice politically significant. According to the report, whichever of Eisenkot or Bennett does not sign with Lieberman would have to pursue a surplus-vote agreement with Yair Golan.

Two national mandate polls published Sunday night show an important change in the post-Winter political landscape: both Kan/Kantar and Channel 14/NEXT DATA now place Ofer Winter and Religious Zionism above the 3.25% electoral threshold simultaneously. The new poll gives Religious Zionism 5 and Winter 4, meaning Smotrich is one seat ahead even before any merger and providing the first significant Kan indication that both parties may be able to survive simultaneously.

The pollster divide therefore remains enormous. Kan puts Netanyahu’s camp at 52 while Channel 14 puts essentially the same camp at 63, an 11-seat difference. Likud alone differs by 10 seats, 21 versus 31, while Bennett differs by eight, 14 versus 6. By contrast, both polls now place Eisenkot at 24, Winter at 4 and Smotrich at 4–5.
