🛡️ PAKISTAN CALLS ATTACKS ON SAUDI ARABIA A “RED LINE”: Recent Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia have frustrated Pakistan and could complicate Islamabad’s efforts to mediate between the United States and Iran.

A Pakistani official told Reuters: “Our top civil and military leaders have conveyed to Iran at the highest level that the attacks on Saudi Arabia are attacks on Pakistan. It is our red line.”

Under a mutual-defense agreement signed last year, nuclear-armed Pakistan has deployed thousands of soldiers, including forces near the Saudi-Yemen border, and a squadron of fighter jets to Saudi Arabia. Pakistani civil and military leaders reportedly warned Iran that an attack on Saudi territory would compel military intervention.

Islamabad is also concerned that Red Sea shipping disruptions could affect its vital energy imports. Reuters reported growing internal divisions in Tehran, where the IRGC’s military wing appears increasingly dominant over political leaders, a strain that recently delayed a bilateral visit by an Iranian delegation to Islamabad.

⚓ HORMUZ TRAFFIC REMAINS AT ONE-TENTH OF PRE-WAR LEVELS: Kpler data recorded only 13 merchant vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz on Wednesday, with eight leaving and five entering the Persian Gulf.

Although the U.S. military is promoting a “safer” southern route near the Omani coast, maritime tracking indicates that most operators continue using routes near the Iranian coast. Some vessels are reportedly disabling their transponders to avoid detection entirely.

Iran’s Deputy Minister of Marine Environment and Wetlands announced that the government has drafted regulations imposing “environmental compensation fees” on vessels passing through Hormuz. The proposal still requires approval by Iran’s parliament.

⚠️ GLOBAL OIL BUFFER FALLS AS PRICES SURGE: Global crude stockpiles have fallen by 360 million barrels since March, following a broader drawdown of more than one billion barrels since the conflict began.

The decline is eroding the primary global buffer against a major “oil supply shock.” IEA Executive Director Fatih Birol warned that alternative production and Saudi Arabia’s East-West pipeline have limited immediate shortages, but cannot sustainably compensate for an extended disruption.

“Brent crude” has risen by approximately $13 to nearly $85 per barrel. “West Texas Intermediate” has increased by more than $10 and settled just below $80.

💥 DRONE INCIDENT DISRUPTS BASRA OIL OPERATIONS: A drone exploded near a Liberian-flagged oil tanker at Iraq’s Basra oil port, prompting authorities to suspend oil-loading operations, according to a security source cited by Al Jazeera.

The Iraqi Ports Authority disputed reports of a broader interruption: “Unloading and handling operations are continuing without any interruption. The incident involving the ship occurred outside the jurisdiction of Iraqi ports”.

Dana Gas separately shut down its main production facilities at Iraq’s Khor Mor field because of security threats, according to Reuters.

⚓ IRAN INSTRUCTS HOUTHIS TO PREPARE BAB EL-MANDEB CLOSURE: Reuters reported that Iran instructed the Houthis to close the Bab el-Mandeb Strait if the United States attacks Iranian power infrastructure.

A source close to the Houthis said the terrorist organization has completed preparations to target shipping, including deploying missiles and drones around the strategic waterway. IRGC representatives already operating in Yemen would reportedly control the final decision on when to initiate the closure.

The Houthis have not yet acted and are reportedly waiting for what they consider the “right moment.” The Telegraph described the preparations as part of a broader Iranian strategy to increase pressure on the United States and its allies.

Closing Bab el-Mandeb while Hormuz remains severely restricted could force commercial vessels to reroute around Africa, disrupt the Middle East’s primary oil-export routes and threaten the Saudi East-West pipeline carrying diverted Gulf oil to the Red Sea port of Yanbu.

Two regional sources close to the Saudi leadership told Reuters that Riyadh is taking the Iranian and Houthi threats “very seriously.” They said the Houthis are coordinating closely with Iran over their Red Sea activities.

⚠️ HOUTHIS THREATEN SAUDI INFRASTRUCTURE: Houthi leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi warned that Saudi oil infrastructure and other vital facilities would become missile targets if Riyadh joins a large-scale attack against Yemen.

Al-Houthi stated: “Saudi Arabia’s role in cooperating with America, Israel, and Britain to undermine any unified and unified position of the Ummah is now completely clear and well-known. Saudi Arabia’s aggression against Yemen has been ongoing for years, has no legal justification, and is taking place within the framework of alignment and loyalty to America and Israel. Saudi Arabia bombed Sana'a airport in protest against lifting the siege on Yemen. They was angered by Sana'a's response to the airport bombing, even though it was a modest response. The real equation is Sana'a airport versus Riyadh airport. Saudi Arabia wants our people to live in an economic crisis, with the only way to obtain money being through treason.The option of surrender in Yemen is out of the question.”

A senior source in the Houthi Defense Ministry separately claimed that Israeli Gulfstream aircraft took off from Nevatim Air Base and operated over the Red Sea alongside Saudi forces. According to the source, the aircraft supported Saudi air defenses by gathering intelligence and tracking incoming Houthi ballistic missiles and drones after Saudi Arabia bombed Sana’a International Airport.

🔥 FIRE ERUPTS AT KHAMENEI BURIAL COMPLEX: A major fire erupted inside Mashhad’s Imam Reza Shrine complex, where Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was buried. Iranian authorities said the blaze began at an asphalt workshop inside the complex, according to Iran International.

💥 U.S. STRIKES IRANIAN COMMAND, MISSILE AND COASTAL SITES: U.S. Central Command announced: “U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) ended an evening wave of strikes against Iran at 9 p.m. ET on July 15. U.S. forces struck Iranian command centers, air defense sites, missile and drone capabilities, and coastal surveillance facilities to further degrade Iran's ability to threaten innocent mariners crewing commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz. CENTCOM used precision munitions to hit targets in multiple locations including Bandar Abbas. Earlier this morning, American forces struck coastal defense and cruise missile sites on Greater Tunb Island during a 90-minute wave.”

Iranian outlets reported additional American strikes on Qeshm Island, Behbahan in Khuzestan Province and areas near Bandar Abbas. The Hormozgan Province Governorate said missiles struck multiple locations near Qeshm at 6:10 p.m. and areas near Bandar Abbas at 6:20 p.m. and 6:40 p.m.

The governor’s office reported no casualties or damage to residential or commercial infrastructure following the latest Bandar Abbas strikes, pending further official assessments.

Local eyewitnesses also reported hearing explosions in downtown Dubai, according to Reuters.

⚠️ IRAN THREATENS REGIONAL INFRASTRUCTURE AND ADDITIONAL FRONTS: Iran’s military warned that the fighting could expand if attacks against the country continue.

The IRGC declared: “If Washington carries out its threats to strike infrastructure in Iran, we will strike infrastructure in the region”.

Iranian Army Spokesman Mohammad Akraminia said: “The Strait of Hormuz will remain closed as long as Washington does not recognize our system based on the rule of law”.

A spokesperson for the Khatam al-Anbiya Headquarters issued a broader threat: “Under any circumstances and in any form, we will not allow America, as a foreign and extra-regional country, to interfere in the Strait of Hormuz. This is Iran's red line, and it is non-negotiable. If the recent threats made by the U.S. President regarding targeting Iran's infrastructure by that country's aggressive military are carried out, then everything that has remained safe so far due to Iran's strength – that is, all the infrastructure in the region – will be crushed under the strikes of the powerful armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, leaving no trace, as if it had never existed in the first place. Let the ignorant enemy know that for us, the moment of confrontation is not a moment to be avoided. What the Iranian armed forces are doing is not a reciprocal strike, but a superior one. These strikes will be more severe, more extensive, and more destructive than ever before.”
